July 11, 2024 – We are excited to announce that IDinsight and Kenya’s Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), a constitutional body mandated to promote and ensure administrative justice in Kenya, are partnering to create and deploy a stronger data system that will support the advancement of good governance and the resolution of administrative injustices in Kenya’s public sector.
The CAJ, also known as the Office of the Ombudsman, addresses complaints of maladministration, including abuse of power, unfair treatment, and delays in public service delivery. It oversees public institutions to ensure adherence to principles of fairness, efficiency, and transparency and provides advisory services on good governance.
IDinsight will work closely with CAJ to enhance the functionality of their current data systems, facilitating smooth data exchange and boosting case management efficiency. We will provide technical expertise to develop a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework and design a real-time tracking dashboard to support data-driven decision-making and ensure prompt responses to public needs.
Building on our experience working with dozens of public institutions across Asia and Africa to strengthen their administrative data, our objective is to equip CAJ with the knowledge and resources needed to utilize data effectively. A thorough M&E structure is part of this to gauge impact and enhance accountability.
“IDinsight’s partnership aims to support CAJ with data and evidence in its mission to restore and maintain public confidence and guarantee that every Kenyan has fair access to high-quality public services by cultivating a culture of accountability and constant improvement.” – Frida Njogu-Ndongwe, Regional Director, East and Southern Africa
