Monday, 14th April 2025 – We are thrilled to announce the launch of our updated Dignity Self-Assessment Tool, a free, user-friendly resource designed to help organizations evaluate and enhance their practices related to dignity. Grounded in the research and insights from IDinsight’s Dignity Initiative, this tool provides a comprehensive framework for organizations to reflect on their current practices and identify actionable steps to better uphold dignity in their work.
The Dignity Self-Assessment Tool is a quick 10-minute diagnostic survey that enables organizations to assess their performance across four critical dimensions of dignity:
By using this tool, organizations can gain valuable insights into their strengths and areas for improvement, helping them build a stronger culture of respect and inclusion. The tool is designed for NGOs, social enterprises, development organizations, and funders who are committed to integrating dignity into their operational and strategic frameworks.
Respect for dignity is a universal value that people across the world deeply cherish—yet it is often overlooked in development programs and services. Whether in healthcare, education, or social services, many individuals experience interactions that fail to respect their dignity.
Research shows that upholding dignity is not only a moral imperative but also a practical one. Respecting dignity strengthens trust, fosters collaboration, and enhances the effectiveness of programs and interventions. By prioritizing dignity, organizations can build stronger relationships with the communities they serve and create more meaningful, sustainable impact.
