IDinsight welcomes Brigitte Hoyer Gosselink to the Board of Directors and two new members to its Advisory Board

October 2025 — IDinsight is pleased to announce the appointment of Brigitte Hoyer Gosselink to its Board of Directors, and Safaa Allali and Joshua Powell to its Advisory Board. Together, they bring deep expertise in technology, government, and international development that will help advance IDinsight’s mission to use data and evidence to improve lives.

New Board Appointment

Brigitte Hoyer Gosselink joins the IDinsight Board of Directors. She is Director of AI & Social Impact at Google, where she leads initiatives that leverage emerging technologies to address global challenges. She works closely with Google’s AI research teams and external partners to realize AI’s potential for advancing social impact goals. Previously, Brigitte spent a decade at Google.org, managing over $500 million in funding for initiatives in AI for social good, climate, crisis response, education, and more. Her career also includes roles at The Bridgespan Group, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and International Relief and Development. Brigitte holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.

New Advisory Board Members

Joshua Powell is Chief Executive Officer of Development Gateway (DG), an IREX Venture, where he oversees strategy and operations. With more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of digital, data, and international development, Josh has guided global multi-stakeholder initiatives, ensuring data standards align with country systems. He has worked with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, USAID, UK FCDO, and Global Affairs Canada. He also chairs the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data’s Technical Advisory Group, serves on the board of Open Data Watch, and was a two-term member of the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s Advisory Council. Josh holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor’s in Finance from the University of Baltimore.

Safaa Allali spent over 15 years in Moroccan public administration, serving as Advisor to the Minister Delegate of the Ministry of Interior and Director of Social Innovation at the National Initiative for Human Development, a flagship program launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Safaa has shaped key public policy reforms in urban mobility and territorial administration and led multi-stakeholder initiatives in early childhood development, learning, community health, and social innovation. More recently, she has advanced transformative projects in green energy and the circular economy. She is an engineer with a Master’s degree from the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris, and has an Executive MBA from UM6P in partnership with Columbia Business School.

With these appointments, IDinsight strengthens both its Board of Directors and Advisory Board with global expertise across sectors. These leaders will play a critical role in guiding IDinsight as it continues to help global development leaders figure out what works, learn and improve, and sustain impact at scale.
