11 November, 2023 – The African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), in partnership with ACED, ACET, IDinsight, Mawazo Institute, Speak Up Africa and Strathmore University, among others, are thrilled to announce the first-ever Evidence for Development (Evi4Dev) Conference, set to take place on May 6–8, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya.
This landmark event will bring together policymakers, researchers, and development professionals to address Africa’s unique development challenges through deliberate engagement with science, technology, and innovation (STI) and evidence-informed policymaking (EIP).
In line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Evi4Dev Conference will offer an unprecedented platform for strategic conversations around data, research, and innovation in advancing the continent’s prosperity. With a theme, Optimising the Role of Data, Evidence, and Innovations in Africa’s Efforts to Create Wealth, Empower Citizens, and Foster Responsive and Inclusive Governance, the event seeks to position STI and EIP as pillars in Africa’s sustainable development.
The conference will feature leading African and global experts, and offer a hybrid model with both in-person and virtual attendance options. An early bird registration fee of USD 300 is available until March 30, 2025, with a standard fee of USD 400 thereafter. Sponsorship packages are also available for organisations seeking to support and gain visibility at this prestigious event. Visit www.evi4devconference.org for more details.
