A theory of change is made up of nodes (or boxes), Arrows that connect the boxes, Assumptions that must be true for Node A to lead to Node B, and finally Metrics and Indicators that can be used to measure whether those Nodes or Assumptions come to fruition. While a ToC can be thought of a blueprint or roadmap, it is not made up of blueprints or roadmaps. Inputs and outputs are one way to categorize nodes, but they are not necessary as part of a ToC. The Target population should be addressed in a ToC, but it is not necessarily a component.

4 December 2024
3 December 2024
