Akib Khan is a Junior Economist at IDinsight, based in Lusaka, Zambia.
Prior to joining IDinsight, Akib was a Consultant with the World Bank for an impact evaluation of an energy infrastructure program in Bangladesh, along with research projects spanning domains such as adolescent health and nutrition (Bangladesh), transport (India), and development investment project quality (Global). In Bangladesh, he has also worked with Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), International Growth Centre, JPG School of Public Health (BRAC University), and International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research (icddr,b). Akib has published on the spatial accessibility of microfinance, long-run dynamics in child undernutrition inequities and their determinants, and relationship between travel time and emergency obstetric care seeking behavior in the urban poor of Bangladesh.
Akib holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
