Kate Sturla is an Associate Director on the Innovation Team at IDinsight, based in San Francisco.
In her role on the Innovation Team, Kate leads IDinsight’s results-based financing strategy and has led internal initiatives to develop new services and resources for IDinsight’s client engagements. Previously, Kate was based in India with IDinsight for 3 years. She led IDinsight’s Patna office and managed multiple projects, including the evaluation of the world's first development impact bond and a learning partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to provide evaluation services to agriculture non-profits.
Prior to joining IDinsight, Kate managed multiple evaluations of public health interventions at the Development and Behavioral Economics Lab in Chennai, India. She also worked as a teacher in a migrant camp in Chandigarh, India.
Kate holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and South Asian Studies from the University of California, Berkeley and an MPA in International Development (MPA/ID) from Harvard Kennedy School. While at Harvard, Kate interned with Peru’s Ministry of Education and wrote her thesis on challenges confronting the provision of public education in Peru. Kate speaks English, Spanish and Hindi.
