Rob Sampson (Mexico)

Director, Impact Improvement

Leads the Impact Improvement Team at IDinsight where he works to increase IDinsight’s impact and team health.

Rob Sampson leads the Impact Improvement Team at IDinsight which increases IDinsight’s impact and efficiency through enabling internal teams with better data, tools, and resources.

One side of the Impact Improvement team generates, analyzes, and uses internal data to improve our internal decision-making & learning, much like the work IDinsight does with our clients. The team is especially focused on understanding our historical impact across projects and using insights to make better decisions about selecting, scoping, and executing projects. The other side of the team works to increase the value per dollar IDinsight provides our partners by empowering our client-facing staff with better tools, resources, and processes. This work enables our teams to spend less effort on process and invention and more time and energy solving our client’s complex, context-specific problems.

Prior to founding the Impact Improvement Team, Rob led partner engagements based out of IDinsight’s New Delhi office. He specialized in leading open-ended learning partnerships with NGOs and foundations that used IDinsight’s full range of services, especially process evaluations, monitoring systems, and data science. He has led engagements with BRAC, Central Square Foundation, Educate Girls, Evidence Action, Indus Action, Tata Trusts, and others.

Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio University and an MPA in International Development (MPA/ID) from Harvard Kennedy School. He speaks English and Spanish.
