Welcome to my homepage

I am  a Senior Researcher at the RWI Liebniz Institute for Economic Research in Essen, Germany, where I am part of the Climate Change and Development Group. I am also a Research Associate at the German Institute for Development and Sustainability (IDOS, formerly, German Development Institute) and the Institute for Food and Resource Economics at the University of Bonn. 

My research covers social protection (health insurance policies and cash transfers), education and labour market issues, and more recently, agricultural risk management. But I also get interested in other questions of social and political outcomes, mainly in Africa.

I am also a co-founder of Apata Insights, a development research organisation in Kampala Uganda. Apata Insights supports researchers and research initiatives from academics, government, non-profit and for profit organisations (in Uganda and beyond) in better measurement of the impact of their interventions.
