Strategic Initiatives Associate

Abhinav Veerina is an Associate on the Strategic Initiatives Team at IDinsight, based in the US.

Abhinav will be supporting the Strategic Initiative Team’s broad set of engagements including management and allocation of unrestricted funds such as the Catalytic Fund, developing a portfolio of projects in specific sectors, and operationalizing the team’s function.

Previously, as a client-facing Associate with the South East Asia office, Abhinav supported an engagement with Room to Read which involved a qualitative study of their gender transformative boys education program in Banteay Meanchey province, Cambodia. He also supported the Impact Improvement Team’s Process Improvement function to build key products and processes to support client-facing teams across the organization. Notable projects he worked on with Impact Improvement include the Data Visualization Library, the Fieldwork Hub page, an onboarding checklist, and supporting new initiatives to improve the team’s communications with the broader organization.

Prior to working at IDinsight, Abhinav interned with the Southeast Asia Regional Office of the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, focusing on surveillance and documentation of human rights abuses in Vietnam and Lao PDR. He also served as a Princeton in Asia teaching fellow at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang, Malaysia, and supported graduate students through the UCSF Master of Science in Global Health Sciences program as a Course Assistant.

Abhinav holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, Health & Medicine from Northwestern University and a Master of Science in Global Health Sciences from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
