In her current role, Bano will manage IDinsight’s Data on Demand team in India that supports clients by providing field infrastructure to rapidly gather high-quality field insights profitably. Bano has 7 years of experience in the development sector. Prior to joining IDinsight, Bano worked with PricewaterhouseCooper’s (PwC) Management Consulting practice in India. In her role, she advised a range of private sector, government and IDA clients such as the World Bank, ADB, UN agencies, bilateral agencies (such as FCDO) etc. on institutional strengthening, policy development, country portfolio reviews, resource mobilization, program implementation and conducted research-based studies. Her experience ranges across several thematic areas such as entrepreneurship and incubation, sustainable livelihood development, gender, education and sustainability in India, Bangladesh, Sweden and Zambia. Bano has also co-founded Weaver’s Hut, a social enterprise aimed at securing handloom-based sustainable livelihoods for weaver communities in the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh. She was the recipient of the HP LIFE and Global Citizen Young Entrepreneur Award in New York in 2013. Bano holds a master’s degree in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science (with Honors) from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, and is also a Young India Fellow.
