Prior to joining IDinsight, Calvin worked on randomized control trial (RCT) projects in health, financial inclusion and social protection. He worked as a Research Associate at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), where he managed data collection for an impact evaluation of GiveDirectly’s large unconditional cash transfer program in rural Chiradzulu and Machinga districts in Malawi. Calvin was a team leader for an Environmental and Socio-Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the Fufu hydropower project in Rumphi, Malawi. He also worked on IMPAQ International’s RCT impact evaluation, examining interventions on combating child labour in Malawi. Calvin holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Statistics from The University of Malawi, Chancellor College.
