Emily McNair is the Director of Fundraising, based on the east coast of the United States. She is a strategic fundraising leader with more than 15 years of experience advancing mission-driven organizations through values-aligned, equity-centered resource mobilization. Most recently serving as Strategic Partnerships Manager at IREX, she fosters trusting partnerships with individual and institutional donors, teammates and stakeholders, and the people and communities served by the organization. Emily views fundraising as a vehicle for advancing equity and amplifying the voices of those closest to the issues. She thrives in mission-driven environments like IDinsight, where rigorous evidence, transparency, and systems change drive meaningful impact. Her approach blends technical excellence with a deep commitment to justice, collaboration, and inclusive storytelling. Emily is skilled at translating complex global challenges—from climate resilience to labor migration—into compelling cases for investment, and aligning donor priorities with high-impact, community-rooted solutions. Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, with a concentration in human rights, from Bard College and professional certifications from LaSalle University and the London School of Economics. She has traveled and lived in many countries, including Nepal, Argentina, Vietnam, and New Zealand. As a Thomas J. Watson Fellow, she spent a year studying the role of apiculture (beekeeping) in sustainable agriculture and diversifying rural livelihoods in a half dozen countries on 4 continents. She speaks French, conversational Spanish (castellano), and her Nepali is rusty but comprehensible.
