Prior to IDinsight, Karimou co-founded MAAD, where he served as Chief Technology Officer. He led software architecture decisions, managed development teams, and wrote backend (NodeJS) and frontend (VueJS, Java Android) code. He also played a key role in fundraising and shaping company strategy, contributing to MAAD’s growth in Dakar, Senegal. Before MAAD, Karimou worked as the Program Manager for Digital Economy at the General Delegation for Rapid Entrepreneurship of Women and Youth under the Presidency of the Republic of Senegal, where he designed a strategy to support tech entrepreneurs, assisted Senegalese entrepreneurs in securing funding, and contributed to drafting and promoting the startup act to foster the growth of the Tech ecosystem in Senegal. Karimou holds a Master of Engineering in Advanced Systems from Ecole Centrale Paris, and has completed the prestigious Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles at Lycée Louis-le-Grand.
