Kashif Ahmed (Zambia)

Junior Economist I

Kashif Ahmed is a Junior Economist I at IDinsight, based in Lusaka, Zambia

Kashif is a member of the Research, Evaluation and Data (RED) team based in Zambia. As a Junior Economist, he helps project teams with designing evaluation and analysis plans in addition to providing technical reviews.

Previously he was a client-facing Associate based in India. He worked on the Aspirational Districts Programme project with NITI Aayog and the Gates Foundation. He supported the administrative data quality backchecks for the nutrition and agriculture sectors.

Prior to joining IDinsight, Kashif worked as a Research Assistant for The Pearson Institute for The Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts and The Energy Policy Institute at UChicago while at graduate school. Before his Master’s, he worked as a research assistant in Sierra Leone for Wageningen University & Research and also volunteered abroad in Peru and Uganda.

Kashif completed his Masters of Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago and Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in International Development, Economics minor from McGill University.
