Kim researches climate policy and evaluates climate change nonprofits for Giving Green. Prior to IDinsight, Kim worked as a Content Editor and Summer Research Analyst at GiveWell. She has been a Fellow with the National Science Foundation’s East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes for U.S. Graduate Students and the Great Lakes Summer Fellows Program, a collaboration between the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She has also led environmental fieldwork in Canada, Chile, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States as part of her studies. Her PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley focused on estimating methane emissions from wetlands. She also earned both a Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering and a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University through a concurrent degree program.
