Prior to IDinsight, Malambo served as Public Health Intelligence Officer at the Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI), where he helped lay the groundwork for Zambia’s Public Health Security Information Management System (PHSIMS) by engineering multi-source Superset dashboards, DHIS2–PostgreSQL–Airflow data pipelines, and a Django-based system to automate epidemiological bulletins and situation reports. At ZNPHI, he also developed a Bayesian-optimised XGBoost model to predict neonatal asphyxia at five minutes after birth, demonstrating how predictive analytics can strengthen clinical and public health decision-making. Earlier, as a Digital Health Technical Associate with FIND, he co-led the development of Zambia’s One Health AMR surveillance platform, including user research, open-source stack selection, data validation, and national dashboards linking human and animal health data. He has also held roles in public health analysis, research data science, and secondary school mathematics teaching. Malambo holds an MSc in Computer Science (with Merit) from ZCAS University and a BSc in Mathematics Education from the Copperbelt University.
