Mia Jeong (Philippines)

Manages projects with a focus on generating actionable insight for social impact in challenging contexts.

Mia is an Associate Director at IDinsight, based in Manila, Philippines. She leads project teams in delivering innovative research, strengthening Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) capacities, and providing strategic advisory support to partners tackling critical social issues across the Philippines, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Her work focuses on empowering decision-makers to improve development outcomes and drive systemic change.

With over 15 years of experience, Mia has served as a manager and technical adviser for UN agencies and NGOs, supporting programs in complex emergencies and developing country contexts. Her work spans Asia and Africa, including Yemen, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Nepal. She has focused on child protection, education, sexual and gender-based violence, cash-based interventions, and forced migration, demonstrating a strong commitment to uplifting vulnerable populations and building resilient systems.

Mia holds two Master’s degrees: one in Peace Studies from the Graduate Institute of Peace Studies in Korea and another in Humanitarian Assistance from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. She speaks English, French, and Korean fluently and has a working knowledge of Arabic.
