Mia Jeong (Philippines)

Manages projects with a focus on generating actionable insight for social impact in challenging contexts.

Mia is a Senior Manager at IDinsight, based in Manila, Philippines. Mia leads project teams to deliver innovative research, build capacities and advise for clients working in environment, governance and agriculture.

Prior to joining IDinsight, Mia has over 10 years of experiences as a manager, technical adviser and consultant for UN agencies and NGOs in supporting programmes in complex emergency and developing country contexts. She has worked in 10 countries (Yemen, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Central African Republic, Nepal, Lebanon, Cambodia, India and Morocco) with specific sectoral expertise in child protection, sexual and gender-based violence, cash-based interventions and forced migrations. Her competencies include needs assessment; programme strategy development; management and coordination; establishing monitoring systems and developing tools.

Mia holds two Master’s degrees, one in Peace Studies from Graduate Institute of Peace Studies, Korea, and the other in Humanitarian Assistance from Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. She speaks English, French, and Korean and has a working knowledge of Arabic.
