Niklas Heusch is an Economist (Consultant) at IDinsight based in Dakar, Senegal. Niklas oversees the technical design, execution, and analysis of impact evaluations, process evaluations, and government learning partnerships, with a focus on West Africa. He currently supports several projects, including two randomized controlled trials in Nigeria, two process evaluations in West Africa, and IDinsight‘s learning partnerships in the region. Niklas’ sectoral focus is primarily on health and agriculture, and his research interests include child health, technology adoption in health and agriculture, and measurement. Prior to joining IDinsight, Niklas worked on public health and nutrition research projects in Ghana, Sierra Leone, and India and completed his dissertation research in northern Ghana examining informal medical care. Niklas holds a Bachelors’ in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University, a Master’s from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and a PhD from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
