Philipp Kastrau is an Economist at IDinsight, based in Nairobi, Kenya. His work is focussed on ensuring that evaluations and other client services IDinsight provides are technically rigorous. He is also involved in the technical training of IDinsight’s staff. Prior to IDinsight, Philipp was the Co-PI for two RCTs studying how different tools of personnel policy affect health worker effort, service utilization, and health outcomes in the context of Sierra Leone’s Community Health Worker program. Philipp holds a PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, during which he also studied at the University of California, Berkeley.
