Prior to IDinsight, Purnima worked as a technical specialist with Catalyst Management Services, anchoring several programs for the #COVIDActionCollab aimed at taking critical public health services to marginalized communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also worked with the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Malawi and across six countries in South East Asia supporting key Hepatitis and HIV programs with a particular focus on diagnostics. Purnima started out in the development sector as a Research Associate with SEWA Rural, working on developing a mHealth solution for frontline workers to improve maternal and child health services in rural Gujarat. Purnima holds an MPH in Public Health from Columbia University and an M.Sc in Microbiology from Mumbai University. She speaks Hindi, English and Gujarati fluently.
