Young is a Manager at IDinsight based in Lusaka, Zambia.

In his current role, Young leads project teams in evaluation, monitoring and advisory work that leverages rigorous data and evidence to help leaders make informed decisions regarding social impact. During his time at IDinsight, Young has worked on multiple projects across Africa, including: Impact Evaluations in Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana and South Africa; Process Evaluations in Kenya and Uganda; and Government Advisory with the governments of Ghana and Malawi. Young has experience in Health, Agriculture, Nutrition, Social Protection, Women Empowerment and Technology projects.

Prior to joining IDinsight, Young worked for an impact-driven micro-finance company that aimed to provide loans to women that desired to start small businesses in Malawi. While working for the company, Young founded the Women at Risk Program which targeted to extend the micro-loan services to women in shelters and women that faced gender based violence. Young also gained research experience working as a Research Assistant at the University of Malawi.

Young holds a Master of Arts in Applied Economics degree from The Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Psychology from Chancellor College, The University of Malawi.
