Our work in agriculture

Improved seeds and cultivation methods, better post-harvest management, strong supply chains, and programs to reduce disease among livestock all have great potential to improve farm yields, income, and food security. That potential can be realized when governments and NGOs have essential information for agricultural program design and implementation.

IDinsight works with clients to understand the economic, ecologic, and behavioral characteristics of rural communities and households; this supports excellent program design and targeting.

We help clients understand and solve sources of inefficiency in implementation, from training extension agents to supply chain linkages. We rigorously measure the impact of interventions, estimating net changes in adoption of technologies, farm yield, animal health, farmer income, and other key outcomes.
