Addressing the Last-Mile Problem in Delivering Low-Cost Health Equipment

Location: Uganda, Kenya
Client: Living Goods
Sector: Health, livelihoods
IDinsight service: Light-touch M&E advisory services

Background
Living Goods utilizes a micro-franchise model to help solve the problem of last-mile distribution of low-cost health equipment. As it scales up across Uganda and Kenya, Living Goods is thinking strategically about measuring its impact and engaged IDinsight to help work through certain impact measurement questions.

IDinsight service
IDinsight provided light-touch consulting services for Living Goods in two separate instances. First, IDinsight advised Living Goods in mid-2013 around an impact evaluation for its Nairobi operations, including a preliminary evaluation design and sample size estimates. In mid-2014, IDinsight worked with Living Goods to develop an impact measurement strategy for its line of nutrition products.
