Full definition: Surveys and lab-in-the-field experiments designed to understand core beliefs and preferences of potential intervention beneficiaries. The primary use case is understanding potential beneficiaries' valuation of a good or service by measuring willingness to pay or something similar.
ColaLife: ColaLife works to bring rural and urban Zambians market access to affordable, easy-to-use anti-diarrheal kits containing a single course of ORS/zinc as well as soap. In 2013 and 2014, IDinsight utilized 4th-price “Vickrey” auctions to map the demand for its kits in rural Monze, Zambia and urban Copperbelt Province resulting in a recommended price of US$0.90.
