Jake Taesang Cho (United States)

Director of Philanthropic Engagement

Leads philanthropic engagement and fundraising to fuel IDinsight's growth.

Jake is the Director of Philanthropic Engagement at IDinsight, based in New York City. Jake brings a passion for social impact and a track record of building strategic partnerships based on shared alignment.

In this role, Jake will support IDinsight to optimize its revenue model and establish its strategy and systems to bolster the organization’s engagement with private foundations and individual donors.

Prior to IDinsight, Jake was the Head of Strategic Partnerships at the Global Business Coalition for Education (GBC-Education), where he developed new pathways and strategies for effective business engagement in the global education sector. He facilitated multi-stakeholder partnerships in Africa, the Middle East, and most recently in Ukraine between businesses, UN agencies, international organizations, national governments, and NGOs, which impacted the education of more than 4 million children and youth. As part of his work at GBC-Education, Jake also represented the private sector constituency in the Global Partnership for Education(GPE)’s Board of Directors as an interim Alternate Board Member and a Technical Advisor. In addition, Jake is a co-founder of VCVV, a volunteer organization that enlists successful young professionals to provide career mentoring and other educational support for underserved youths in South Korea.

Jake holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and an undergraduate degree in International Studies from Korea University.
