We support service providers to strengthen water, sanitation, and hygiene programs that improve people’s health and wellbeing.
Evidence shows that risk factors for poor health are the highest when communities lack access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), increasing their likelihood of becoming sick from otherwise preventable diseases. We support service providers to target their programs, identify behavior-change approaches, and strengthen market-based WASH activities specific to their contexts.
IDinsight has worked extensively to design and evaluate programs developed to improve WASH-related behaviors. These range from light-touch changes to the physical environment such as behavioral nudges to community-wide mobilization programs. We work with clients to improve their implementation and resource allocation for WASH practices to strengthen community health, hygiene, and wellness.
We leverage our expertise in behavioral economics by designing and conducting impact evaluations on behavioral nudges, evaluating behavioral nudges, as well as WASH programs that improve infrastructure, as well as educational campaigns. We also work through embedded learning partnerships to generate evidence about a program’s impact and effectiveness.
