Prior to joining IDinsight, she worked at Standard Microgrid as an Office Administrator, and contributed in community engagement and setting up of 10 microgrids across different low income communities in Zambia. She has also previously worked for Quantum Foods (Bokomo Zambia) and FastJet. Machenje graduated from the University of Zambia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Development Studies.
