In her current role, Sumedha leads IDinsight’s engagement with Project Sampoorna, a multi-organisation effort to embed socio-emotional learning in public education in Jharkhand and Telangana. She manages this long-term partnership with multiple monitoring and evaluation activities focused on helping Sampoorna partners improve their impact. Sumedha is also leading IDinsight’s efforts to build expertise in qualitative evaluation techniques, focused on process tracing. Previously at IDinsight, Sumedha has worked with non-profit and government partners to design and implement research studies across sectors. She led the design and ongoing execution of an evaluation of a capacity-building initiative for women’s collective social enterprises and its effect on women’s empowerment. She also worked with NITI Aayog and the Ministry of Agriculture to study Farmer Producer Organisations’ challenges in accessing agricultural markets. Prior to joining IDinsight, Sumedha served as a Legislative Assistant to a Member of the Indian Parliament. She also worked on a research project mapping informal settlements in New Delhi and their access to public services, and in communications for a gender equality advocacy organisation in Singapore. Sumedha holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Singapore Management University.
