Vikas Dimble is an Associate Director and India Lead of Data on Demand at IDinsight. In his role, Vikas works on a portfolio of projects around building a robust data ecosystem in India and manages the Data on Demand (DoD) India Team. Prior to joining IDinsight, Vikas was Deputy Director for Ashoka Centre for Economic Policy (ACEP) at Ashoka University. ACEP worked on empirical macro-development questions relevant to developing countries. Vikas worked with Arvind Subramanian, the Director, to conceptualize, set up and run ACEP. Prior to that, Vikas was Assistant Director of Research and Strategy for the Tata Centre for Development (TCD) at the University of Chicago. He has also worked as India Country Economist for the IGC at London School of Economics (LSE), as a consultant to the World Bank, and as a Research Associate at J-PAL research centre at MIT. Vikas completed his Masters from the University of Sussex and his undergraduate degree from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and School of Social Sciences and Psychology, Victoria University, Melbourne. In addition to IDinsight, Vikas is also the content editor for India for India, a public policy portal.
