March 16, 2021: IDinsight, a data analytics, research, and advisory organization with a large portfolio in India, announced today the appointment of its new India Regional Director, Mallika Ahluwalia. Mallika will expand IDinsight’s influence and collaborations in India, while ensuring the organization’s steadfast commitment to its values and social impact through high-quality technical services.

Mallika brings a passion for data-informed policy and a track record of building relationships and leading social impact initiatives. Most recently, she was the CEO and co-founder of the world’s first museum to memorialize the Partition of India. Under her leadership, the Partition Museum was developed as a state-of-the-art, interactive resource center for the study and understanding of Partition, welcoming thousands of visitors monthly.

Previously, Mallika was the Country Lead for Health Systems Design at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Delhi. While at the Gates Foundation, she anchored the Foundation’s work to bring increased accountability, access, quality of care, and financial risk protection through cross-cutting health system approaches. Mallika also worked with McKinsey & Company and the Indian Ministry of Rural Development on the National Rural Livelihoods Mission. Mallika brings an impressive background in global development, evidence-informed decision making, and coalition building.

“Mallika has an impressive leadership track record and experience driving social impact in her previous roles across sectors,” said IDinsight CEO Ruth Levine. “She is an excellent fit for IDinsight as she deeply aligns with our values and culture. We are excited to have her at the helm at this key juncture for the organization.”

“I feel privileged to be joining an incredible group of colleagues who bring such technical rigor, impact-focus, and empathy to their work,” said Mallika. “IDinsight has established itself as a leading data and evidence thought partner in the social impact sector in India. I am looking forward to working with the team on this next phase of growth and impact.”

Ron Abraham, who is a Founding Partner at IDinsight, established the organization’s presence in India as its first Regional Director. Over the last nine years, he grew the IDinsight team, developed strong government and non-profit partnerships, and supported policy and program decisions across sectors – from education to rural development to governance. Ron will be moving to Hong Kong for personal reasons and will continue his role on major projects with government partners in India. He will also serve as a strategic advisor to the IDinsight CEO.

Mallika will begin her transition into the India Regional Director role in late March 2021.
